Our AGM this year was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes NW5 Play Project so special — our young people, our families, our staff team and our community.
We were treated to a fantastic dance performance from Maysa and Casey, with Habiba joining at the end — a confident and joyful start to the evening that reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
Sharley shared highlights from the past year and introduced our 2025 Annual Report, giving everyone the opportunity to look through the achievements and milestones we’ve reached together.
Maimouna shared her inspiring journey with NW5 — from resident and parent, to Board member, and now employee. She spoke passionately about her new role and the work the community champion coordinators have been delivering since the programme began.
A key highlight of the evening was hearing from our young people directly.
Sharley introduced our Youth Employment Programme — explaining why it exists and how we support young people not just into work, but with mentoring, training and confidence-building alongside it.
Kian shared his journey over the past four years at NW5, including achieving his NVQ Level 2 in Playwork and nearing completion of his Level 3 in Youth Work.
Izzy also shared her story — from attending NW5 as a child, and now working as a trainee after completing her GCSEs. She spoke openly about how the trainee programme supports young people, particularly those who may leave school without achieving all their GCSEs. Her highlight? Being someone children can talk to — especially those who may not always have someone at home or school to listen.
These moments truly captured the heart of NW5 — growing our own talent and creating real pathways for young people.
It was lovely to hear parents speak about their experiences of NW5 and the difference it makes to their children. Their feedback and continued support mean so much to us
