On Saturday 5th July, something truly special happened in our neighbourhood: PeckFest returned, bringing together friends, families, neighbours, and our wider community for a day of pure joy, connection, and unforgettable memories.
After weeks (and really, months) of dedicated planning, we pulled it off and what a day it was! The green pitch was transformed into a playground of fun and laughter, buzzing with activities for all ages.
Young people bounced to their hearts content on the inflatables, enjoyed playing around in the giant sand pit, and explored the soft play area. The photobooth and tombola were a hit as always, with prizes and silly snapshots galore!
High above it all, Damian kept the energy alive, DJing straight from the roof and creating a festival vibe that could be felt across the whole estate. Meanwhile, Emma and Michael (with a big helping hand from Dillon) served up BBQ favourites, keeping everyone fuelled and smiling. Over at the bar, Charlotte and Warren and Nathan kept the drinks flowing, making sure nobody went thirsty in the summer heat.
We had some incredible special guests and activities throughout the day:
🎨 Jack, our brilliant graffiti artist, worked with young people to create a bold, colourful piece.
🎨 Leo, our resident artist, was a creative force all day long, inspiring kids and adults alike.
🎶Ikran kept us upbeat with her dance sessions.
💃Rosy from Broadway Boogie closed the day with an amazing final dance session, leaving everyone on a high.
🎨 Polly delivered a messy play session that delighted our littlest festival-goers.
💥 Laura from Bounce kept the energy sky-high with her fun, high-intensity sessions.
We also had JP, a local resident and parent from NW5, working behind the scenes to ordain the sound system and ensure everything ran smoothly. Vibe and Go treated us to delicious food throughout the day, while Mary captured every laugh, dance move, and tender moment on camera as well as managing our social media to share the magic with everyone near and far.
We cannot overstate the importance of the incredible NW5 Staff team and Trustees who worked tirelessly before and during the event. From behind-the-scenes prepping to on-the-day coordination, none of this would have been possible without their hard work, dedication, and unstoppable spirit. A special shout-out to The festival pre team Macy, Harry, Kian, Lillie, Charlotte, Linda and Maimouna for holding it all together and making sure every detail was thought of, even through the inevitable pre-event stresses!
