We are incredibly proud of two of our young people, Lillie and Poppy, who have recently completed the Snow Camp Excel Programme and achieved so much through their dedication, resilience, and hard work.
Over the course of the programme, both young people worked towards gaining qualifications in snow sports, alongside completing important training in mental health awareness and first aid. This combination of practical and personal development has helped them build confidence, new skills, and a strong foundation for their future.
A real highlight of their journey was the opportunity to take part in a week-long residential trip to Andorra. For both Lillie and Poppy, this was a life-changing experience where they were able to learn and develop in real snow, in a mountain environment. Being outdoors in this setting challenged them in new ways and gave them the chance to apply their learning in real conditions, while also building independence and teamwork skills.
We are especially proud of how both Lillie and Poppy supported each other throughout the programme, showing commitment, positivity, and determination from start to finish. Their achievements are a true reflection of what can be accomplished when young people are given the right opportunities and support.
This journey would not have been possible without the support of NW5 local fundraising, which helped contribute towards the financial costs of the trip, alongside support from Snow Camp. We are extremely grateful for this, as it ensured that these opportunities could be made accessible to our young people.
We hope Lillie and Poppy’s achievements will inspire other young people to see what is possible, even if something feels out of reach at first. Their journey shows that with support, belief, and hard work, young people can achieve incredible things.
Well done Lillie and Poppy – we are so proud of you both.
